This past Fall/Christmas season was the MOST FUN EVER. You people rock. Seriously. This is just a small snippet of the families who trusted me enough to take their family photos and Christmas card pictures for 2015 and I can’t say enough how HONORED I feel! To think that these photos are going to be treasured, printed, framed, or just stored on their computer for years to come and then found unexpectedly one day down the road and remembered with fondness of how much their kids have grown blesses my socks off.

Thank you all for allowing me the opportunity and please continue sharing with your friends and family! I would love to create memories for them as well! Happy New Year and here’s to 2016!

The Fowler Family

I get so excited every time someone asks me to do a photo shoot for them. It’s encouraging and nerve-wracking all at the same time. But I have so much fun spending time with so many different people and capturing moments that they’ll treasure looking back on. Last weekend was no different. I had the privilege of spending some time with the Fowler family. Matt and I met Brandi and Daniel briefly in our newlywed class a couple of years ago, but they quickly switched classes because of sweet Braxton’s quick arrival, and since then they’ve had another precious baby boy, Brody. Braxton might have the most beautiful blonde locks of hair I’ve ever seen and Brody is without a doubt the most content baby I could have asked for. To top it all off, they’re Alabama fans. It just doesn’t get any better.

Daniel’s parents were in town for a visit and they are the true unsung heroes of the day. What you won’t see is them behind me 90% of the time clapping and making noises to get the boys to look towards the camera and laugh. So we had to make sure we captured some moments with them as well πŸ™‚

It was at this moment that I was poised and ready to take quick shots just in case he tumbled in the fountain. I’m sure Mom wouldn’t have been happy but I’m pretty sure those pictures would have been adorable. Ah, but Braxton kept his balance and we were able to get some good splashing shots instead.

And then as fate would have it, as we were wrapping up our shoot, a real train passed through on the nearby tracks. At first we were worried Braxton might get scared by the noise, but he totally embraced it and couldn’t keep his eyes away. Precious.

Baby Saoirse – 3 months

Time flies in the life of a newborn! Just 3 months ago I was taking Saoirse Medley’s newborn photos, and now she is 3 months old! Her mom and dad are being so intentional about documenting her first year of life and I just love it! It’s so fun to see how she has changed so much in such a short period of time. This girl didn’t want to smile too much but we sure did get some great shots of her tongue!

Everly Anne – Part One

You all remember Caitlin and Cosbie’s maternity shoot right? Well this little girl has made her way into this side of the world and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her here! Even though she is a MONTH old already (don’t cry, Caitlin!) these photos are from when she was just 2 weeks brand new. It’s amazing how much she looks like her daddy and if you look really closely, you can already see little dimples taking their place on her cheeks! Everly decided to be a little fussy during her shoot and wasn’t too excited about having a camera in her face, hence she’s staring me down in most of these, but we did the best we could and Part 2 will be coming soon!

Caitlin & Cosbie – Maternity

I’m so very excited to introduce my friends Caitlin and Cosbie to you all today! I’ve known Cosbie for almost 10 years (what?!) and then got to know his better half after he and Caitlin got married. Now she is one of my dearest friends and I am so excited for them to welcome their sweet baby girl Everly into this world any day now. When she asked if I would do some maternity pics for them I jumped at the opportunity. These are some incredible people and they are going to make the greatest parents. I can’t wait to meet their little girl when she finally decides to grace us with her presence!

Of course I also had to get some shots of their nursery. Probably the most adorable little girl nursery I’ve ever seen.

Lindsey & Richard – Maternity

Over the weekend I had the privilege of doing a photo shoot for our friends Richard and Lindsey. They were in our newlywed Sunday school class for a while and were some of the first to start having babies! I’m so excited for them to welcome their baby girl Mallory literally any day now. They are going to be amazing parents who teach their sweet little girl to love Jesus and serve Him, and there is nothing more exciting than that!

Thunderstorms were predicted for the afternoon that we had scheduled to do our shoot, so I was so thankful when the weather decided to cooperate and not downpour on us. A little cloudy and overcast is better than thunder and lightening any day.

Miss Avery Elizabeth

The week after Christmas is usually reserved for family time. My brothers and their family from Tampa all come up and we do Christmas/birthdays/New Years together. It’s one of my absolute favorite weeks of the year. What’s even greater, is that our family just keeps growing! My niece, Avery, celebrated her 1st birthday in October and so Emily (her momma) asked me to take some “One-Year” pics while we were all together. Of course, I was thrilled to do so! This child is too adorable for words, much more reserved than her spunky sister, and seems to be very observant. But when she gets to laughing, her dimples are sure to make you melt!

Count the dimples, please. Uhhhhh, so precious.

This sweet face…

Those beautiful eyes.

A little blurry, but funny nonetheless. Girl kept getting in trouble for standing in the rocking chair and this time she was caught!

Is there anything better than little pudgy baby feet?

We decided to go outside where it was FREEZING but Avery was a champ. For a little bit. Maybe a few minutes. Well…let’s just say there’s a lot of in between shots that might tell the whole story πŸ˜‰

We tried to get some sister shots with Rilynn but as you can tell, Avery had just about HAD IT at this point. Literally, this is the only picture we got of herΒ not screaming her head off.

Can’t forget big brother Andrew!

I love these kiddos more than is probably normal, but that’s okay. I soak in every ounce of time I can with them while we are together!

Merry Christmas Mini-Shoot

I wanted to send out Christmas cards this past Christmas (2013) but really didn’t have the time/resources to do a full photo shoot with a professional photographer. So instead, I decided to try my hand at doing our own photos! It was quite hilarious, considering I do not have a remote control for my camera, so every shot was on a self timer with me adjusting the settings, posing Matt, and then clicking and running to get into position before the timer went off. Our outtake shots are quite comical, but I managed to get about 4-5 good ones. Enjoy!

Chelsea & Ryan: 2nd Anniversary

A couple of weeks ago my best friend, Chelsea, asked me if I would be interested in doing a photo shoot for her and her husband’s wedding anniversary that was coming up. Instead of going away for the weekend, they had a brilliant idea to each plan a day of activities for them to enjoy together. Chelsea’s day was Saturday, Ryan’s on Sunday. That way, they could surprise each other all day and still celebrate the entire weekend, while at the same time making awesome memories. Brilliant, I tell ya. So for part of Chelsea’s day she wanted to surprise Ryan with a photo shoot. She might have been more excited than him, but he assures us that he was excited too.

Anyway, I was so excited to get the opportunity to do this. I’ve been looking for ways to practice using my new DSLR, and what better way than to photograph you’re best friend?? They can’t get mad at you if you produce less than stellar pictures. It was SO much fun to capture their love and flirtiness with each other. So without further ado, their anniversary shoot!

Dipping My Toes in Photography

A couple of weekends ago, I went to go visit my sweet friend from college, Madison in North Carolina. Madison and I clicked from the beginning and I’m so glad the Lord continues our friendship even after Liberty. Our friend Kelsey came for the weekend also to spend time with us and to take Madison and her fiance Andrew’s engagement pictures! Kelsey took mine and Matt’s dating, engagement, and wedding pictures and is a highly sought after photographer living in Arkansas. She is unbelievably talented, completely gifted by God, and because Madison is smart, she hired Kelsey to be her wedding photographer as well.

A while back, I began asking Kelsey questions about what kind of camera I should get if I wanted to do some basic photography that would get me better quality than iPhone pictures. She suggested the Canon Rebel T3 with a 50 mm 1.8 lens. After saving up for a little while, my amazing husband surprised me with that camera for Christmas! So needless to say I’ve been itching to try it out, play with it, and start dipping my toes into the world of photography.

So, back to our weekend in North Carolina. I knew Kelsey would be shooting Madison and Andrew’s engagement pictures, so I asked if I could bring my camera along to get some tips from the world-class photographer herself πŸ˜‰ Kelsey graciously obliged and even said I could shoot along with her. She even let me use one of the two fancy lenses she was using while she shot with the other one. It was SO much fun! I learned quite a bit just in those couple of hours of shooting behind Kelsey that I did not know previously, but my world was also opened up to how much more there is to great photography than I thought. For all of you who might believe all you have to have to get great photos is a fancy camera, you are highly mistaken. The person behind the camera is the talented one and the one who can make or break your pictures, so make sure you give them the credit they deserve!

Kelsey also graciously said I could share some of my favorites that I took on my blog, but I wouldn’t do it without linking you to the REAL, legitimate, professional photos of Madison and Andrew’s engagement session which are hers.

So without further ado, here are some of my favorites! (Kelsey also gently reminded me that any pictures I take from here on out with my own lens will NOT have this type quality. She let me use her lenses, which are much too advanced for me to invest in for where I am right now.)

Such a look of sincere love, Mads

I love how sweetly southern this couple is.

Drop dead gorgeous, I tell you.

The master in action!

Please make sure you go see Kelsey’s pictures. They will blow your mind and make you want to hire her for any and every life occasion!

Kels, thanks so much for letting me tag along and try my hand at this beautiful gift that you are so talented with! You are so selfless in sharing your knowledge on this art and I am grateful to benefit from your insight!
